Elk River Tire & Auto

Do know what’s an important part of good tire service? You got it; checking the air pressure! The original air pressure recommended by the automobile manufacturer is required to be listed in the owner’s manual. If the level of inflation has consistently varied from the manufacturer’s recommendation, it's likely that the wear and tear of your tires have accelerated, shortening the life expectancy of your tires! It may be time for a tire repair to keep your tires rolling smoothly and safely down the road.

Why does Correct Air Pressure Matter? They will last longer, your car will handle better and safer, and you will save money on fuel.

Why Check Air Pressure Regularly? We suggest checking the air pressure in your tires every other time you fill up your gas tank as they lose pressure daily. In cool weather, tires will typically lose one or two pounds of air per month, and in warm weather, they lose even more air. Check your owner’s manual in case your vehicle has different tire pressures on the front and rear axle. So that you don’t get stranded on the side of the road with a flat, it’s a good idea to check the pressure in your spare at the same time.

What is the Correct Air Pressure? Look for the correct air pressure in your vehicle owner's manual. It should also be listed on the sticker attached to the vehicle door edge, doorpost, glove box door or fuel door.

Remember: Tires are easy to forget about until something goes wrong. Spending about two minutes a week taking care of your tires will prevent a costly and untimely tire repair down the road.
