- All brands are not the same> – Different companies use different additives. That is what makes each product different from another.
- Synthetics are not “fake”> -- Synthetics are derived from crude. However, synthetic uses higher base stocks than conventional. Synthetic also goes through a different process than conventional for extra wear protection and overall higher shear strengths. Synthetic oil will not cause damage to engine seals.
- Dark colored oil doesn’t necessarily mean it’s time for an oil change – If the oil is dark, it means that it is using the detergents added to the formula to clean the inside of the engine.
